    great pictures and a really enjoyable race. I thought it was even more hairy than last year, at least last year you knew the ground was going to be hard!

    does anyone have the actual distance of the race? I know it says 5 miles but I completed in 40:40 and it really didn't feel like 8 minute miles! maybe i'm better than I thought - I doubt it!

    I think it's just over four miles, something like 4.2. - just tried one of the online mapping tools which gave around 2 miles one way.

    Distance was 4.32m with 693' of ascent.
    About 9.25 min/mile Superfly.

    Details: Sunday 16th December 2012. BS - 5m/800' from Penistone
    Hill Country Park, Haworth, W Yorks (GR 025364) Race starts 11.30am,
    entry £3 on the day only. PM/NS Over 16. Records 28.52 Andi Jones,
    Salford, 2005, f 35.13 Olivia Walwyn, Altrincham, 2007.

    Will Ian Holmes win for the 12th time or will Rob Hope get a
    little nearer to the elusive oil painting prize presented to any one
    collecting 10 wins, Rob is on 7, or will surprise 2012 winner Sam
    Tosh show youth is best !!! Remender that Andi Jones is the record
    holder with 28-52 from 2005 & who would bet against him?????

    All competitors will receive a free Santa hat that you must
    run in!

    "Festive Fancy Dress" competition
    with 'Cadbury Xmas Choc stocking' for the best 8, let's see lots of
    Santas, Elfs, Xmas Trees, Xmas Puddings, crackers etc.

    Would love to be up there... but.... it's the 2nd round of the 'PECO XC' series, & I ought to be running that; being (apparantly) a points scorer for the Club


    However, I've got an 'Auld Lang Syne' entry, so see you all up there on the 31st
