Does anybody know if the route changes implemented in 2011 will still apply in 2012?

I'm speculating that moving the race to April is to avoid disturbing nesting birds, and that we will be back on the old route over Middle Tongue.

I am still speculating as to whether I am doing the event or not as I sent my cheque off on the 11th of Jan and it has still not been cashed. any body able to throw some light on it?

Me too. Entered by post, the day befoe it went on line which I had forgotten about. No ida whther I am in or not- and it 'matters' as it a counter in the ultra series.

Checked my account and my check has been cashed. Had a great year last year for me, for 20hrs, looking forward to this year just concerned that they will bring the grouping forward. For a self confessed grumpy bugger this is a concern .
Any body heard about grouping?

The issue of grouping times for the new date has not been discussed by the committee yet, so nobody will be able to tell you whether or not they will change. I will suggest it as something to be discussed at the next meeting.

Is there a set route or can you choose your own route between checkpoints (apart from the specified no-go areas)?
