quick wizz around Anglezarke Amble route today all on my own- partly as punnshment to self for being too lazy and tired to get up early last Saturday. (really just a good excuse for a lovely long day out as rain is forecast tomorrow)
Managed 4.30 which with nobody to race I was very pleased with
In a quite geeky (but not as geeky as stolly!) way I've been using my Christmas present smartphone's GPS and the mapmyrun app... Garmin is.unemployed in the drawer now.
9 local miles with a decent chunk of climb on Monday, same distance with more climbing today. From ladybower over rowlee pastures to alport castles, quick mooch about there and ate my lunch, then speedy run back, amazing weather contrast with alport being a good 5degrees colder and hugely windy compared to the start.
10.15 miles up Wessenden Valley from the centre of Marsden. A quick ascent of West Nab and back down and around the valley. 1732 feet of ups and downs in 1:37:48. I am a happy bunny with that.
Great post work run, first 30mins without a head torch and perfect conditions belted round a 6 mile route. If i had the spare breath I'd have been laughing the whole way round. Very intoxicating
Lou Reed stuff today. Walked (yes walked) from Langdale up the band to Bowfell. Weather at top was awful, poor vis and strong winds. Weather continued in much same vane as we wandered over to Esk Pike (still a good amount of snow above 700m). After a few moments of soul searching at Esk Hause we decided to go for Scafell P. Couldn't see damned all on Great End and wind was still strong. And then, as if by magic, (dear reader, you guessed it!) a curtain was drawn aside. Suddenly, the way was clear, and we continued up to Scafell P with astonishing views all around. It stayed like this for the remainder of the day Descent was via Corridor Route, back to Esk Hause, continued to Angle Tarn and finally beer in Dungeon Gill. Perfect Day!!!![]()
Smoggy's day sounds great!
8 hill reps up a hill (funnily enough) last night. Thighs felt like they were tingling at one point, and not in a nice way
No cramp or vomit, though, so I probably didn't push it hard enough!
