Vangelis- Blade Runner end credits. Got the 3CD soundtrack album recently to see if progressive trance has any roots in this type of stuff.
It's weird, it has the abstract feel but doesn't layer and unlayer samples in the same way.

I'd have put Vangelis more with the avante garde sounds of bands such as Tangarine Dream?
