    Looks as though the clag is coing to be down around 1500-2000 feet which means a lot of the route will be in clag.

    Unless someone in the group knows the way of scafell pike, I suggest you back track the broad crag col before coming down: it is a tad slower, but less danger of walking over a 1000 foot vertical drop - and from green gable keep the fence line to brandreth in sight - go just far enough left of it to find a good grassy running line - then straight N when you reach the col between the two tops of grey knotts, you will find a trod high up, and good running further down.

    Wont be joining you. Back knackered from a BG rec on thurs.

    The notes on the back of the Race Map (from Scoffer?) suggest going back to the Broad Crag col anyway.
