Thread: Blubberhouses 25

Yep I'm entered for this. Had a trot round the route last Sunday - pretty slow agonising stuff with Rombalds in my legs and the watery/icy underfoot conditions which weren't ideal. I found it ok in terms of route finding but the last section up Beamsley Beacon and across Round Hill and all the way back into Swinsty was very hard work. Definitely one not to go out too hard.

My first time running this but knowing the majority of the route I think I just need to have a look at the Thruscross to Rocking Hall and Storiths to Beamsley Beacon sections sometime soon.
I don't know which way round it's being run this year, but haven't you got one of these 2 sections back to front? Thrushcross to Rocking Hall (or vice=versa) is very straightforward.

It's definitely an anti-clockwise circuit this year as per last year (I received final details earlier in the week). Yes I can see the Thruscross to Rocking Hall section is straightforward but as I've only ever been to Rocking Hall on partial out and backs from Storiths/Bolton Abbey direction before I thought it worth a look at some stage before the day...possibly even tomorrow

    Hi Mark
Yep see you at the start line. I had a great time on Rombalds…….. After passing you i carried on at that rate, continuallypassing runners and groups one after the other, what a great feeling. Someone said to me, wow you're running welltoday, i just agreed looking for the next lot of runners to knock off -flipin pensioners, i thought! I passed shit loads going up the Chevin andgot quite irritated by all the groans and moans of how much they weresuffering, but I soon left them allbehind.

Little did they all know, i'd only done about 17 miles (withoutthe hills) compared to everyone else’s 23 - don't tell anyone! Ha Ha, when you get to my age!
