Is the club a non-fellrunning club? where are you based?

I find the club nights slightly frustrating, we usually split up into two groups on Thursday night. I am not fast enough to go off with the mountain goats but I find the main group stops too often to regroup.

I have got myself an extremely late entry to the Edale Skyline so I am going to have an intense 3 week training programme. Hopefully I will be 70Kg on the start line - 5Kg less than the Trigger in January.

I don't get down to the club nights as often as I should, or indeed as often as I'd like. That may well change as the weight drops off, and I free up wednesday nights (off-road social night runs) again!
Keighley and Craven is the club, or will be once I've paid my subscription! I tend to only do the off-road stuff. I lay the blame for that squarely with my dog.
I seem to recall that they often do hill reps on a thursday so that's probably a good place to start!

Happy birthday! IMO metric is better in some situations, imperial in others. I agree, metres are much better for mountains (except that they make ours seem very small). Kilometres are more encouraging if you are measuring how far you have already run, but miles if measuring how far you have to go. Inches, feet & yards were far better for teaching small children how to measure. They could use a foot long ruler as soon as they could count up to 12. Then putting 3 rulers end to end vividly demonstrated a yard, long before they could count to 36. Stones & lbs are better for weighing people, because they can go up or down in half lbs, whereas, as has been pointed out, 0.25 kilo just looks silly.

Right following some discussion I've decided to set a more specific target weight of 75kg. Again this will be a year end goal, with far better body fat percentage than what I have now. I also imagine my weight may go up a bit before it comes down. Dr could you please amend the table to put my new target down. Ta

I am fearing the worst, I had a bad weekend on the beer due to the birthday! I have ran 23 miles over the past 2 days to try to undo the damage.
