Blimey Nipper! You're a race junkie aren't you. I'd love a go at Jura but will struggle in the near future cos it doesn't fall in the school holidays often (I'm a teacher.) Good luck with it.

oh, Alun also emailed: You can skip the busy stretch out from Glasgow and the A82 dual carriageway by getting the train from Glasgow to Arrochar & Tarbet (junction of A82 and A83 on the banks of Loch Lomond). I’ve never done it but (as I’m not a great lover of traffic when cycling) would imagine it would save a lot of time and fumes…
a rush and a push and the land is ours
Its very hard its like nothing you have done before, with the Lakes race's it's one climb at the start and bit of up and down but you never drop to far. With Jura on the Paps you have 3 big steep climbs and after each one drop pretty much back to where you started. There aint any paths little trods now and then.
I did it last year for the first time cracking race worth it alone for the cakes...
Looking at recent postings on getting there - it would just not be a good idea to cycle the A82 bit - no one is used to seeing bikes on this (fast) road, and there is a train anyway, occasionally. Last year a mate took the train to Greenock, and island-hopped with his bike to Kennacraig - different to the way many cyclists go, via Ardrossan and Arran.
As for the sea crossing, I am about to put the latest details up about the direct passenger ferry service. This will run direct to Craighouse from the mainland, Tayvallich, and takes 12 passengers. Nicol will put on as many trips as he is asked for, and is very keen to do so. Every passenger can take a bike with them, if they wish, and dogs are allowed as well. Watch the website.
