And plucky little city, there excuse.. a team of no european experience are just finding their feet...
Yeah the likes of Aguero.. Tevez.. Toure.. Dzeko... Toure.. Silva... Hargreaves... Clichey.. Pizzaro.. Ballotelli just don't have experience of top level European football.. add the manager to that...
I agree to a certain extent Iain. We haven't played particularly well in Europe either this or last year. On Thursday night though, although we didn't play well we were far from disgraced and certainly in the second half controlled the game and were a tad unlucky not to equalize.
Compared with your game on Thursday where you were completely outplayed and to be honest were lucky to escape without being completely humiliated we did ok.
In all seriousness United are a poor shadow of their former selves. Sadly though it seems in England only City understand this. Lets hope Hodgson et al were watching events unfold at OT on Thursday and realise 3 points are there for the taking if they just believe.
But that's partly because of Fergie's bravery. He doesn't let a team get old. That's why we have been at the top for 20 years, unlike Liverpool and Chelsea who let teams get old. Despite that we have 64 points from 27 games. In most seasons we would be 5-10 points clear at the top by now. Both teams at the top have unbelievable points totals this year.
Look at Spurs though, they've been better than us, yet now sit a way back.. winning ugly.. We have periods where we are superb, but the thing about Fergie is he can get teams to win ugly. A few years we have won titles yet been the second best team in the league.
A good article on the BBC, Man U have spent 1.1 billion since Abramovich took over, he's spent 2 billion, yet we've been more successful.. down to one man.
I think teams still fear us. We are mentally just so superior to Spurs. There is still an inbuilt arrogance to United that we will win, we always win.. so the players just keep going and teams just get twitchy and don't put us away. City need to develop that arrogance and I think they are starting. The big players you've brought in have it already.
But I think most teams know we are beatable. But once we get back in a game its like the opposition is waiting for us to score.. People say its lucky but its been 20 years of last minute goals and come backs.
War-nock......He sounds and looks like something out of lord of the bloody rings and he wears a permanent facial expression which resembles somebody who has just smelled a particularly foul smelling fart.
He has skin-brows. Distinct eyebrow shapes, yet no (or very little) actual eyebrows. In fact he looks like an 18th century poofter .
And he has already turned dirty Leeds into a horrible team.
