hang on just realised then do some people go via moses trod and keep to the left of brandreth, is this any quicker ???????

also being a runner that always looks for a short cut i tried a more direct route coming down the end of the corridor route, hang a left down a grassy gully and you can be over towards the bottom of gable quicker , huw mentioned he thought that some of the runners try this , i think i went to low but if you get it right im sure it could save a bit, you really are just missing out a little gully that you have to cross before the last run in down to styhead

Well done eveyone yesterday (Had to head off rather sharpish at end)! A great day out (7 hours counts as a day in my book). Special thanks to Emmilou and Huwski (plus Paul - I think it was Paul - Huwski's mate and navigational wizard).
Best bit of running defintely the descent from Dale Tarn - although the bit between Green Gable and Honister was a close contender.
I reckon the trickiest bits navigationally are choosing the best line off Bessie Boot until Allen Crags (defintely skirt round there) and then making sure you head off Great Gable and join up with path.
See you all in August (Am convincing myself that cut off will not be a problem once take out picnic stops/route tips/rescue missions etc.).

What a grand day out. A fantastic round, lots of the views keep popping back into my mind, magical. Thank's to Emm for organising it and to Huw and his mate Paul for navigation. Hope to see everyone again at the race and will have to work on a pass for the evening too, sounds like a good party.

Will definately take the scree route off Scafell, what a laugh.

Looking forward to the rest of the photos Dom.

Who was the forumite we bumped into on Scafell pacing a BG??

Errr there is and I was stupid enough to look for it yesterday.
(http://homepage.ntlworld.com/h.price7/borrowdale/ ) gable.jpg shows two routes, thick red line was quick route I did in May, thin one yesterday's 'alternative'!!!!

AlwaysInjured - Thanks for asking, leg was fine thanks, what an amazing physio Duncan is.

Daz H - I nearly always take Moses trod route, lot more running but no climbing. (Takes me 30mins Gable=> Honister)...However......I am getting to like the route we took yesterday.

Richard was supporting Bill (a fellow forumite) at Honister from 7pm I think Andrew means the Todmorden chap that went whizzing past us on the climb to the pike summit

Was great to see everyone yesterday. And what a coincidence!!! There I was spending 10secs on Gable summit putting my jacket on, ready to head off again....and out of the mist appears a genie. At least that's what I thought it was....then I realised it was Huwski!!

Thanks for an enjoyable little trot down to Honister finding some devious grassy trods! And what an enjoyable little climb up to Dale Head.

And look...I got on the photos!! I gatecrash the party and I still get on the photos!!!
