Really enjoyed that. Tough enough though - I'll be walking like John Wayne for a couple of days! Thanks to all involved including the Rev for putting a word into the Big Lad upstairs for the weather.![]()

Cracking race. Just what i needed at this time of year. Great weather. Thanks to Trig and all is helpers.
Can anyone remember what the Rev's text was? I know it was Hebrews but I can't seem to find the verse.

Great course, and one that seems to punch above its weight: no Big Name hills, but gruelling enough for me.
Steve Merrylegs' description of Trig as an 'enthusiastic' RO is absolutely right. He was at the heart of an incredible local effort to make the Heptonstall race memorable. I don't think I've ever seen more members of a village community galvanised into support for a fell run. Everyone was pleasant and encouraging and couldn't do enough to help. Well done, all.
Cheers. One to go with psalm 18 v 33 for fell running inspiration.
Unsure of results but this was the leader by over 6 mins just past Walshaw Dean causeway - pretty sure it is Chris Birchall from Leeds AC

What a mega race, well done Steve & all your band of merry men & women! Brews & cakes at the start, cakes & soup at the finish, not to mention the marvelous Scotts 1816, life doesn't get much better! And to cap it all I managed to keep it all down too!
Big thanks to the Rev too, nice inspiring words, & he was handing out the flapjacks at the end.......couldn't turn my water into wine though the lightweight
And thanks also to all the helpers, marshalls, fell rescue etc, i tried to say cheers as I passed so if I missed you, apologies!
Finished about 4 minutes slower than last year but it looks like the race may have been slower so I'll take it as an improvement anyhow!!
See you next year, although I still think the last climb should have a chairlift!!!
Edit, good pics from Ady too, cheers for the words of encouragement
Thanks for all the thanks! I know its not like me to miss the opportunity for a few posts, but just taking one of my marshals out for a well earnt meal (my mum!!)
Was so chuffed you all turned up and enjoyed it!
The comments about about the community/marshals were spot on (it was a big team effort)
Hoping to get the results up tonight!
