Thanks Jedimaster - and congratulations on your 3rd place!! I can't check flickr at work - pesky firewalls.
'Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us'
Dug off a nice little write up on TFs Blog - thanks TF!!!

Some more pics from around the village at registration and at the prize giving post race plus the last man in who was very happy to have made it round in one piece – well done!! http://flic.kr/s/aHsjzcaqbB
Can we see some pictures of the stitches to the two injured runners – understatement of the race from one of said runners at Lady Royd Farm heard to say, "I think I've cut myself" (you could actually see his shin bone).
P.S. I was taking to Trig earlier and he tells me that the race numbers (kindly provided by Up & Running Hudds) entitle each runner to a £10 off any shoe purchase over £70![]()
I'm sure he won't mind as he's posted it on his webpage, but this is Matt Haworth's leg, obviously after being cleaned up & before being stiched

Hopefully I have attached the photo correctly, this is post stitches after they cut and scraped out the mud that was in the wound.
Sorry never got a pre photo with exposed shin bone.
Leg now very sore and painful, may have to have a rest from running this week!!!
In response to Trigs earlier post on finishing the race I was so annoyed with getting the wrong line to the Standing Stone and losing so many places catching up the front group became priority.
When I eventually decided to have a proper look at the leg thats when I nearly passed out what a good thing adrenaline is!!!
Anyway still enjoyed the race will be back next year im sure.
that looks nasty nick
Bloomin heck Nick - was there a shark in that bog???
How many stitches???
I reckon you hit that bog (with hidden rock) at 7 miles - to run a further 8 miles with 2000 ft ascent and finish 5th (and there by secure the 1st team for Wharfees) was heroic stuff.
And you want to come again next year!!!???
That's the wharfedale way charlesworth!
