Over and out. Bye.
Shame. I was enjoying reading this little Cumbrian corner. It was helping me revise for my honorary Cumbrian citizenship exams!
Going up about once every 1 and a half months this year!

Hi all, twas a bit crowded in my neck of the woods today ......
I went for my usual run around the Coniston skyline this morning, left the walna scar carpark at 10ish, headed up to Wetherlam and then up prison band to Swirl how. At this point I had bumped into 3 people, one of which was a young fell running lady and her nice dog on the way down from wetherlam. I plodded on and when I rounded the big cairn at the top of the old man I was greeted by approx 30 to 40 people ! It was unbelievable, i've been up there many many times and never ever seen that many people huddled together. Anyway I set off down the main track to my car and blow me it was like ten pin bowling, I must have passed another 60 people at least on their way up.
Stilll, it was a nice trot out and most of the peeps were friendly, I also bought heavily into the fell runners code of not trampling anyone one the way down. Came close to running off a step drop on more than one occasion trying to go round peeps but all is good
We had a nice walk out in our wee bit of Cumbria the other day too!! We were over on the Solway coast! We did a 7 hour wander (...time on our feet in preperation for us both doing Bullock Smithy, and for owt I might get done!!), managed 18 or 19 miles expolrining the mosses/nature reserves that I'd noted on the map!! Had a pint in the Highland Laddie at Glasson!!
