    75km club ride Saturday a.m. @ 29kph

Hated every minute of it though - mainly cos I'd tired myself out with an intervals sesh the evening before.

41km all in today, work and back. Thought I'd be slow after 2 weeks off, but managed a dhAlf decent time averaging 26 kmph for the day. Not hugely fast, just better than hoped for

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Question for the road bike racers :-)
My partner has been out of running with a foot injury since October last year :-(. He misses fell running and is becoming a man of very sad disposition!! (understatement)! He rides his bike to keep his fitness up and to commute to work (Hope Valley to Sheffield and back) and probably does about 250/300 mls a week. I suggested road racing to give his competitive side a bit of fun. He has joined British Cycling, has his road racing licence and is in the introduction category. His first race is entered in May. However, not quite sure how you get those points to go up a category? Know it's 10 for the 1st move and it gets lot harder but how do you get awarded points in the race?
    Hope you can help
    :-)

    Ordinary 17km commute each way.

(steady run at midday, swim and cycle tomorrow)

Hello - it depends what standard the race is and where you come.
All explained on these two pages here:

    I'm back on the bike.
25k this morning trying not to exceed 144bmp or zone 3
Just crept over twice but I'm happy again ans sure the Doc would be.
Nice warm sunny morning but the rain has just started now so I've been lucky.

Sorry to hear your miss fortune Steve, but you appear to have brushed it off.
Get some tube bought off ebay, you know it makes sense.

I've got a spare mate, but i didn't have it with me, went to work on mtb and still had SS cross bike tube in rucsac. Ordered some of them slime filled tubes, used em before and no punctures.
Good to see you back out Trev after heart thingy:thumbup:
