    Re: BG Training

Good day yesterday, though it only confirmed I've done nowhere near enough to consider doing BG this year. But now I know what I need to do!!...at last!! Did Leg #1 plus Clough Head. The devil is clearly in the detail! Had a good run through Skiddaw and Calva, being able to see really helps! But then basically, got a bit lazy once I crossed the river (...without getting my feet wet!!). This caused me to wander too far towards the tourist path so I ascended via there. Then I checked out the 'Parachute' route but cam back to the ridge far too early, and as a consequence a little slow descending to Threlkeld. Did that section in around 4 hours, maybe plus 10 minutes for starting at the back of Fitz Park. Stopped for a meal break then set off up Clough Head, I was pretty tired tho',and it took 63 minutes which all things considered I was happy with. Then ran back to Keswick.

Having checked out a bit of 'Parachute', in decent weather its not as bad as I thought it might be, but I was thinking myself that Doddick allowed me to keep my running rythmn better. Tho' I certainly need to check out the variations much more. Halls Fell ridge in even damp weather, in descent, is probably a no-go for me, unless I could suss out the optimum line 100%!

    Good luck Hank.

As for the weather, I don't think you can read too much into forecasts... the Lakes seems to defy them.

You've put in the work, try and relax and enjoy the day.

Will someone be putting updates on here?

I know my Android phone works at Dunmail. If my eyes still focus at that point I'll try and send out an update.

    I could not agree more.

Good luck, Geoff. I'll be thinking of you (occasionally) while I'm doing the 3 Peaks.

Thank you for the good luck wishes... I'll be needing a little bit of luck!

Hopefully my road support will be Tweeting my progress (with the obligatory black-hole of Wasdale) which is linked from my signature.

    Hi Ken

I ran with Hank at the Tour De Helvellyn, I think you took a photo of us at Swirls carpark.
