Only those of us of a certain age can remember when the start didn't go up Elle Bank! I can't remember when it was changed - late 80s/early 90s perhaps?

it's worth busting a gut up elle bank as whoever you are stuck behind, you'll stay there till the end of the race unless you're not careful!

there's a pic of the start on my blog if anyone wants to see it

    This about sums it up:
    Attachment 6074
then this is possibly one of the worst sights you can have whilst on a fell race:
    Attachment 6076
Then later on you'll look a bit more like this:
    Attachment 6075
remind me, why am I doing this race again?
I don't know who took these (i pinched em rather unceremoniously)

If anyone isn't running but can help out on the day, Mark Boulton (race organiser) has asked me to ask you to get in touch with him. His details are all on Steve Temple's excellent Hayfield Fell-races page.

Wednesday....not long to go...better start resting the thighs / calves and carbo-loading for this wee blast....having just noticed 3 x 1.5kg packets of ugali flour in the cupboard....maybe I should throw a ugali party on Friday night...
