Great run out today! BG Leg #2. 14.37 miles/5,575', couple of miles more than Bob Wightmans blog? I'm guessing he'll be right tho! 4hrs 28mins, so technically maybe a wee bit slow.

Stop Press: Not actually too bad when I re-read BW's schedules!!

Opposite end of the scale from the above post... 4x1mile reps. First time I've done them and first time I've done any flat reps for just over a year. Not pleasant, and 4 isn't even that many I don't imagine.

Interesting to see how fast you can run a mile though.

A necessary evil though :-/. Can't leave my house without a hill so I do all my reps/intervals/pace stuff on the Monsal Trail about 10mins drive away. Prob near 20mls end to end and back, flat, fast (not as fast as road but near enough), no stiles or gates, no roads to cross or traffic (cycles but its a good wide track so not a problem) great views if you look. :-) and I can concentrate on pace and style. I go on a week day when I have a gap between clients. Could be a bit busy at weekends.
My favourite training run each week though is the "run approx 1hr. As you feel". Out on the hills, all weathers, as I feel may even include a little dance step every now and then".

    Re: Today's Training

Hard morning on Kinder. Thick fog on the tops so started with a lap of the Mt Famine,South Head race route. Looked a bit better on the tops after that so up to Kinder Low via Edale cross and down into Edale. Crosssed the valley and up Mam Tor. Glorious views all round by now but a biting wind so quickly back down by Hollins Cross and back over Kinder to Hayfield via Jacobs Ladder and Kinder Low.

19 mile,5200 ft and feeling good.

    Re: Today's Training

Did 20 miles Friday, ran to the train station from home, then from station the other end to work and back home again, so not all in one,go but 20 in total with small rucksack. Lead a recc’y run on Saturday morning for a club hill race being held towards the end of the month, steady speed just over 11 miles with just under 3000ft of climbing, nice slow recovery run with the wife tonight of 5 miles. Total for last week was 49 miles, quite a big week for me; next week will be a quite one. Part of my 4 week rotating training plan of hard and easy weeks brought about because of the shifts I work.
