Great race - Richard and Matthew were on form - 4/5 mins ahead.

Everyone said stick right off Moel Cynghorion - and Im still kicking myself for going LEFT and the direct and steepest line down - lost 4 or 5 places doing this...next year :-)

thanks to the marshalls as always.

Dyl, here is the route I took down Cynghorion yesterday. You can see how steep the lhs is from this image

I dont think theres much in it which ever line you take.the left side is a bit steeper but then again its all steep, also,If you approach the path checkpoint from the left, the gradient of the climb from the stream is less than a direct line which you would get from the right.
    Ady:
the line you took looks like the optimum one
I never enjoy doing this race ,i think its because i`ve trained on these hill so much in the past and also i`ve never had a good run on it(race) but saying that i think its a good race and well organised, well done jayne and team.

    .
I don't either..on tired legs on the Peris I always take the steepest. At the British Champs I went steep and gained ground..going back to the path I go fairly direct and climb a bit more but really the route choices don't make a huge difference....

Had a bad race last year, jet lagged, good race in 2008, but same as you think I've ran these hills just too often..

Great runs by Math and Rich...few run sub 65.

Footware is what suits you best on grassy stuff really, not much rocky or stony ground on this one. Mudclaws or X Talons for me tomorrow probably, as far as kit goes it's a medium race so usual cover/map/whistle etc. Weather looks good!

Looking at the forecast full windproofs should be OK.. Its an AM so full windproofs mandatory..
