OK, its time for the cup competition to start.

Same rules as previous years, but for those new to fantasy fellrunning, here's how it works...

Each of the remaining national championship races (not the extras like Lakeland Classics) will host a round of the cup, starting with the Great Lakes Run on June 16th and ending with the cup final at the final 2012 national champ race, Kielder Blast.

You choose 4 runners to represent you in the cup tie. Two of these runners must be from your league team, but the other two can be anyone you like. There is no need to have a mix of men and women and its irrelevant how many pints they cost. This is our chance to select the very best runners. Who do you think will win the race?

Points for each runner are scored in exactly the same way as the normal league scoring, and the team with the higher score will go through to the next round, eliminating their opponents.

You can change your team any number of times, as long as its before the start of the race (the first start if there are separate mens and womens starts).

If you don't post a team, your normal league team will represent you.

If you get through to subsequent rounds, you must post a new team for each round of the cup, otherwise it will again be your normal league team who will represent you, not the team that you posted for the previous round.

There is a bye for Britain United.

But... since we have 65 teams (the most we've ever had!), one extra team needs to be knocked out.
So the team that wins their 1st round tie but scores the lowest points of all the round 1 winners will also drop out of the competition.
For this reason Britain United still need to put a team in, because they can go out if theirs is the lowest winning score.

So post your team for the first round on here by June 16th.
