Warrington parkrun imminent.
Great organisation today - vests-off to James (event director), volunteers/marshalls, sponsors, etc.Marple parkrun kicks off on May the 26th
A whopping 209 finished the inaugural event today. 54 doing their first parkrun. Bodes well.
Lots of support from Parkrun stalwarts from south-of-manchester and further afield (28 x 50 T's), (12 x 100 T's) and (1x250 T from darn sarf)
A fair few forumites taking part from Buxton, Gloss, Goyt, Stockport, etc.
Very warm even for 9:15 am. Not sure if anyone went on to Shutlingloe later.
The course reminded me of a cross between Wythenshawe (grassy bits), Bramhall (woody tree-rooty bits), and everywhere else (Park-pathy-bits).
Funny 2-lap figure-of-eight routing though (I imagine due to the river and other obstacles)

I've definitely got a different perspective towards my running these days. Having had injury after injury I now run very much for pleasure and good times with friends. The days of chasing PBs and track sessions have long gone.
Good news for East Lancastrians. Burnley Parkrun kicks off this weekend. It's out of Towneley Park, and is virtually all on gravel paths.
North Manchester logic?..if you're not grovelling your gravelling...:wink:... and is virtually all on gravel paths.
