Cheap crappy w'proof for bike

I should post this in a cycling forum somewhere, but this is the only place I know can quickly post and be assured of some sensible advice

Just back in the country for a few weeks.

For running in crap weather I use my OMM top if it is tanking down, and a shell that is about as waterproof as a t-shirt if I want a bit of wind protection on not so wet days. Unfortunately neither of these items does it for riding a bike. I want something that will fit in my back pocket and help get through showers (there seem to have been a lot of those recently from what I have been reading). This is a "temporary" purchase though as my usual environs don't really require that I have one (very few impromptu showers). Are there any 10 quid deals somewhere that I should know about that might fit the bill? Or am I going to have to get a 200 quid Rapha top?

Suggestions welcomed. I am in Windermere just now, so I probably need to sort something out quickly.

I use my Montane H20, which I bought for running, but which works v.well for cycling: breathable, folds up v small, snug fit so not much flap. And not that expensive.
If I rememebr right, Montane might do a cycling specific jacket - but they probably bung on an extra £20, as anythign to do with cycling has to be more expensive by law, it seems.
I wouldn't go for a cheap kag-in-a-bag, you'll just boil up and get soaked in sweat.

A quick search gives all sorts of H20s: Velo, Featherlite, Ribbed, flavoured... which one do you have?

There's just the one H2O jacket - full name is Montane Lite-Speed H2O Jacket.

The Featherlite is a windproof, not a waterproof. The Velo is a bike version of the Featherlite.

The H2O is not quite down at the 10 quid level though, RRP is £100, although you'll find it quite a bit cheaper if you shop around.

If there is any Aldi shops in the area, they often have cycling gear and good prices.

I have that jacket (H2O) for cycling in and I sweat like a pig when its fully zipped up.
I won't buy one of those again for cycling in.

On the positive when dog walking its very waterproof apart from having no hood.

Sapper, I have Decathlon's bottom of the range cycling waterproof. It was either £7.99 or £9.99. Certainly is not breathable, but certainly turns the downpours. Folds up and goes in the rear pocket of the summer road shirt, no probs.
