you mean you had a spare T-shirt Tahr? That'll be why your kit weighed so much! Although we did have 200ml of Whiskey... in a glass bottle.
As we were approaching Scoat Tarn today we had a bit of a madness singalong, including a bit of a skank.

Are you the cheery chappie who we got lost with near Buckbarrow and had to turn back. Your Scottish mate knew a shortcut after the farm which wasn't a short cut at all? And who lead us over the swamp towards camp on day 1 when really we should have taken the forest track? And hurtled down Rough Crag yelling 'I love descending'??? If so, great to meet you!
Oh no that was meso so sorry Mrs stagger to lead you though the swamp, but didn't I tell you not to follow us? Next time I am going to follow you might get a better time, yeh it probably was me “shouting I love descending” hope I wasn’t too irritating
, it was great to meet you and your friend too.
Hope you had a good time.
Kev
Well done Dux de Lux [I think!] for winning the Klets.
If it was you I can now put a face to a name, since I was to-ing and fro-ing with you for most of the second half of day 2. You'd been a lot quicker than me on day 1 though.
And well done to Nee Bother for winning the vets handicap.
With Karen as well, that's a clean sweep for forumites in the Klets!!
No, you were really funny, we could hear you singing for miles! Your voice echoed round the valley and everyone was laughing as we climbed Black Beck, it definitely kept us going.
We had a great time thanks and did much better on day 2, I think we were enjoying ourselves in the sun too much on day 1 hence the slow time but what's the point in rushing back to camp when you can play out on the hills?
Glad you enjoyed your first MM and say hello to your friend. Might you do another one sometime?
Cheers Bill, you were flying on second day and i couldn't keep up...I was shocked when I saw I had won the handicap, I had no idea!!
I had a poor first day and couldn't seem to get anything right so I missed out Seatallin and Greendale Tarn as I had ran out of steam. Enjoyed the mid camp with BBQ and good craic with mates and had a much better Sunday, hitting everything spot on. (apart from one error in the final 15 minutes that Karen noticed)
Well done to Karen, nice to see some ladies doing the solo class. And very well done to Dux if he was the winner.
You were much stronger than me
Saturday was a great way to spend my 60th birthday, apart from the tussocks on the side of Caw Fell...
Shame about the weather, was looking forward to some tough navigation but it turned out to be a course for the runners, ie not me! Despite our worst ever result, I think I enjoyed it
It's a pity that the organisers won't use routegadget, it's be good to know whether any of our less popular route choices were any good or not.
Did anyone else on Bowfell opt for the climbers traverse round Gable instead of Windy Gap? What routes did people choose from 3 to 4 on day 2 (we went up to the Haycock rodge and then back down, which I think was good as we were overtaken by some of the same people on the way to 5 as had overtaken us earlier in the day).
Did anyone findthe vaguely suicidal-looking planners route to the last control on day 2, straight down the craggy hillside from Red Pike? We went for the scree run down Black Comb and gained about 10 minutes on the others in front of us who went for Wind Gap![]()
