Oh and Mr Bother....thanks for your cheek!!
    Nee bother mate.....anytime

Clive & fjell guy......Be careful if you do a couple of long ones close to each other, it is possible but will take it out of you...be ready to change or delay plans if not 100%.

Remember Ash is a bit younger than us (not sure of fjell guys age mind) and she works in sports so will recover faster than us......she also had a good coach

Yea as Nee Bother says...I was prepared to pull out of the 50, if I didn't succeed at the BGR!
I would probably try and allow a minimum of 6 weeks to recover but nearer to 8 if you can. My training for the BGR got me round the 50!

    The 50 is a great event:thumbup:

I'm 50 matey!! After a brief period of reflection I'm pretty much against the idea of the L100 for next year. I'll possibly enter L50 with the view, Like Ash, that I can bin it if I have to. But with a September 1st entry date you have to make a very early decision. Its a bit tricky as there is a lot of other stuff I want to do. Fellsman, Hardmoor Series etc etc. I have a wee inckling to try the WHW Triple Crown sometime. Still really want to do better times in Lakes Classics too. So little time, as they say! BGR needs clearing out of my head first I think. If its not done next year I'll bin it off for a few years I think, as its too time consuming physically and mentally.

Brilliant event! I thoroughly enjoyed it, great crack, everybody encouraging and helping each other out. Well organised and the checkpoints were amazing.
I fancy it again next year as I think I can go a fair bit quicker (13.13 this year) Only snag is, I have this crazy idea that I'm going to try to get into the Western States 100, probably won't get in but if I do, it is at the end of June, 4 weeks before L50!

Someone told me this weekend, and he's done both, L100 is much harder than Western States, this may add fuel to your fire:wink:

A few questions as I fancy this next year.

How quickly does it fill up?
Is there food and drink on route?
Is it marked or nav all way round?

    Thanks in advance

I think last year the 50 filled up in a month, 2013 race you can register from 1st September.

Yes there's food and drink at the checkpoints.

The course isn't marked, but it's all on trails, you get a map and a road book with a description of the course.
They have recce days for the event.
