Brighton Big Dog MTB race, 6 hours solo. Absolutely awesome race! Great technical course, very slippy on the chalk. Loads of singletrack and rooty stuff. Loved it! Got better as the race progressed, every lap getting faster, my last one being the fastest, as I was getting better at it

I just LOVE that new bike. I won it some very posh carbon handlebars as well, which is great, as I went for cheap ones as that was where I could save some money The cheap ones can go on the old Kona.

I am now also the proud owner of a plethora of Lezyne goodies, bottle cages, pumps in all flavours! Very very awesome prize pot. First time I won cash for a race too! And I didn't forget to take my coat off when I was called to the podium, so the team jersey was visible Getting there

    great club ride Saturday
started off in a tropical deluge at 9.30am - some of the heaviest rain I've cycled in
About 80km round north-west Kent / south London - with a real tear-up over the last 15km, averaged about 40kph for that last bit.

Wow, that is great going Ratfink

When is this Shap TT geronimo? I have a picture to deliver to Penrith so I could just manage to convince the colleague to give me some more time off... But I do have a 12 hr MTB race at the end of the month...

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Very pleased with big day of training on Saturday... did X2 laps of the Helvellyn Tri bike loop on the TT bike with a bit added on to get to and from the loop. This added up to 133 km with 1879m of climbing including twice up Kirkstone via The Struggle... averaged 31kph which, for rough Lakes roads and a fair bit of climbing, I was really pleased with... threw in a run up and down Helvellyn from Glenridding to finish off the day.
