Wow, that is good going! How did you find the Struggle on your TT bike? I doubt I'd get up it on mine...

Just looked up the Shap TT... It is the same day as my 12 hr MTB race

That is the only type of TT/road I still do: mountain TT's and hillclimbs. Pity, as it looks a good one!

Not too bad... stuck a 28t cassette on (53/39t upfront) and paced it at tempo rather than riding it all-out.. managed 5th place on Strava for it so not too bad.

Yesterday ( 6th Aug ), rode the Pennine Bridleway from Kirkby Stephen railway station to Cam End (then down the Cam High Road to Gearstones and Ribblehead station), accompanied by a young lady of this parish. The first off-road section from Street to the Mallerstang valley ( over High Dolphinsty ) would be better suited to a F/S MTB, we did quite a bit of "hike & bike" with the 'crossers, even on the initially very steep part of the descent into Mallerstang. The rest of the route was ideal for the cross bikes. Now done the Settle Loop and everything N of it, on 'cross bikes. Now looking to connect the Settle Loop to the Mary Towneley Loop.

At least you got one now and are enjoying it They are great aren't they?

I did the Brecon Beast MTB race route the other day on the crosser with a mate. Very satisfying to find that even on a rough descent we overtook the full suss guys...They had ridiculed us earlier, when we overtook them on the way up to 'the Gap' then they came hurtling down past us only for one to come a cropper and two to puncture and the 4th to walk down the descent LOL

ION: speed work on the road bike yesterday... the type that gets gradally harder as the short recoveries don't quite clear the lactate from your legs. Last 10 minutes was an absolute pain cave, but hopefully it will make me a little faster.

Just back from a gentle walk in my socks. That extra hill rep seemed like a good idea till I punctured at the furthest point
