My friend Dr Tool has told me I'm being unfair. So yes there have been some honest performances that I have and haven't seen. Women's boxing was one of them, yesterday, Ennis in the heptathlon was another. I also enjoyed Women's hockey. The sports I'd like to follow however - cycling, athletics and swimming are so corrupt they really destroy the Olympic spirit. They take down the overall estimate of the games completely.

The cycling as far as I am concerned and from the experience I have had of being at the velodrome and meeting the guys and watching them train, albeit before Sir was Sir are absolutely to form except to an untrained eye. (Chris came out of that bend on the track looking like he was trailing, but remember the added distance on the bank, as in staggered starts).

I for one will take away from these Olympics something that will be positive because there hasn't been much else to be poitive about with the economy and the trouble in Syria. I will not be engaging in any petty arguments, as I said before 'it is easy to criticise from the armchair and without any idea of what it takes to be at that level'.

Anyway as a result of watching it (ha even the News has been moved, wow) I have regained some real drive to push myself back to almost full fitness on the bike and I'm renewing my membership to my old club. I'll even be trying to get my 10k down to sub 30 minutes :w00t:

As long as it fits in with my work of course.

Enjoy, only a few days to go and don't forget to tune in at 8.55 pm tonight, we had Allyson last night what does tonights have in store.

Well let's talk about a trained eye then. The french runner up in the Men's sprint (cycling) was so perplexed by the sudden increase in form of Jason Kenny he turned up at the press conference after and asked him how he'd done it.

Isn't that just French sour grapes? The French also accused the British of having "magic wheels" but then it turned out that the company that manufactured them came from France and also manufactured those of the French team. And the British team hasn't suddenly become good at track cycling, they did just as well in Beijing.

Two things. First she was a Russian under a dictatorial regime, where doping has been demonstrated to be rife and secondly she was running a pace 50 seconds slower than the Kenyan.

I don't think it was - sour grapes, I think the French Man was genuinely perplexed. There has been evidence of doping on the British cycling team, a fact Mr Brailsford tried to brush off.

The French sprinter is a convicted doper. What's this evidence you speak of with regard to BC?

The authorities governing sport need to start publishing the results of the blood and urine tests so they can be scrutinised by the public. Too much covering up is done by the scientists and governing bodies to hoodwink the public into believing they are rooting out the cheats, when really they are not.

One example: Justin Gatlin in the Men's 100m final. His positive result some years ago came from over four times the ratio of testosterone in his system. At that time he'd just ran 9.77. So they disallowed the 9.77. This year he runs pretty much the same time as then and they are telling us he is clean? Give me a break!
