Borrowdale Fell Race

My worry is, that Walshes tend to flay my feet if I wear them for more than a couple of hours, especially my new(ish) PB Racers. That's why I wondered if there were any alternatives.

I wore Swoops, believe it or not, and although I was the slowest they were comfortable throughout.

That's important, isn't it. I take Daz's point about the pain that's inevitable by the end, but if you can reduce the number of parts of your body that are screaming "STOP, YOU FOOL", it has to be a Good Thing.

How would you get them on your feet?

now when you guys went for your reccy the other week - dom said that daz and huwski went one way and sunnysideup , dom and emmilou went another way off sca fell pike - I'm trying to work out which ways you went because dom semed to be convinced that Daz's route involved no back tracking what so ever and therefore daz must have taken something like route C! which looks pretty awful to me - (not becasue of the steepness but cos of the size of the boulders you have to cross lower down) so does that mean that the sunny, dom emmilou group went down route B and no one (on your recce) went down route A......???

daleside come on the recce and i will show you the quickest way off the top, for a brief few seconds you think shit no way but then you just let go and bomb down , come on you need to do it on the recce

No Daleside - you need to get facts straight. Dom went the chicken way by back tracking whereas Emmilou, Daz, Brett, myself and lots more went straight over the edge.

Like Daz says you need to come on the next recce to see for yourself.

To be honest there was no visibility so I'm not sure which way people went.
I was left behind on Scafell Pike but saw Huwski go straight off the top (C?). I backtracked to the col (probably A but could have been B). Daz should know because he came down with me after he had come looking for me!
