Exactly what i was thinking. Surely they've got to do it at some point in the near future.
It would be really interesting to know how much someone likes Killian is free to choose which races ( or challenges ) he does each year, and how much is driven by sponsor ( ie for him Salomon ) demands.
If for example UTMB was sponsored by Salomon, not North Face, would he be more or less told he had to be there this year, or could he still have gone off to USA for Pikes Peak, etc
These guys must get invited to so many races, or notified about so many records, the choice must be really difficult if they do have complete free reign - what a position to be in..............
They're at the top of there game so I imagine they get to choose exactly what they want to do.

Does make you realise how ridiculous the comments on the Killian Journet BG thread about him being a "trail runner" and unable to cope with the "technical ground" of the Lake District were.
I asked Kilian this question in a brief interview with him out in the Pyrennes last year. I had presented him with a copy of 'The Bob Graham Round', asked him whether he'd heard of it and if so, would he contemplate an attempt. He had, and he seemed genuinely interested in the idea of the Round. As I understood it Kilian has someone at Salomon who is heavily involved in looking into potential 'quests', trips and events and decides which would be worth getting him involved in. He does have a say in what he does/doesn't do, but I imagine if Salomon really want him to do it...Originally Posted by Yaks
As an aside, I know very little about Salomon, their market share in the UK, their potential and interest in expanding in the UK market. But, if Kilian was to do something like the BG it would massively raise the profile of Salomon. At the time I tried to interest Salomon Team Manager, Greg Vollet, in the idea of a BG, but he was luke-warm...
