That felt really tough I felt completely spent at the Pen y Pass thanks to Mike for organising a super race and to all
The volunteers who sit on the exposed mountain tops
Few pics of the race on the blog: http://sarzmountainrun.blogspot.co.u...tling-for.html
Perfect conditions
Great Photo's Steve and really good to meet you. I don't know who was dragging who round on the second half of the race.
It really is a race to two half's. I think the second half would be a tough race on it's own, let alone hitting it after 9 miles and 4,000ft plus.
Great race and great organisation, thanks to all the marshals and the RO. That soup at the end was just what the doctor ordered.
Wow!!
enjoyed that
went off on the early start again, and although I reached PyP in 2:44, was glad I had cos it helps make you feel part of the race as the full starters overtake/catch up
chatted with loads of people, particularly glad to see the Pennine Massive in attendance flying the flag for the Peak District
well impressed with sbrt's pics, as a few of them have me in!
the lack of steep hill reps in recent training told though, as started to cramp up after Y Lliwedd
having now completed the full course, I can officially rate this as my joint-favourite race along with Wasdale - both brutal monsters of courses, but must-dos every year so long as fitnes allows...
Many Thanks to Mike Blake and his band of ultra-efficient marshals for putting on this most classic of races
(only criticism would be the typo on the mug for the second year in a row - it seems I am the proud completer of the Peris Horsehoe)
I was an early starter as well, great idea, got to pen y pass in 2:30. like daz then I had company up the east ridge. would not have done that on my own. great race for water, loads of streams.
Alastair has some photos on his site.

I don't wish anyone unwell, but, PLEASE tell me you are all finding walking as hard as me. John Wayne style is all I can manage. I can't believe I scaled 8500ft yesterday and today getting out of a chair and walking up one flight of stairs is so difficult.
i spent 2 hrs cutting the grass this morning it actually done me some good![]()
