YES! I feel my eyeballs rattling in their sockets on the Pen-y-ghent descent and I cannot focus! That and tears streaming down my face...

Stockport to home in North Wales - 103km, once I rode the 13km to Chester station and got the train to Stockport. Decided to do a cross-Cheshire ride for some reason, just liked the idea of crossing a county from one side to the other.

so 116km today, good training for my first ever Audax in just under 2 weeks (120km). Felt good, back a bit sore bit legs did ok.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Hmmm... I may well be out of 3 peaks. That crash at the End 2 End race last week has taken it out of me more than I thought... Was out with a mate tonight, doing some 3peaks cx training and found the carry very hard work. It is about equal to Simon's fell. I got up but I don't think I'd be able to get up Whernside and Pan-y-Ghent after Then came some descending... Too painful for words. Where I normally happily zip down, shaking, rocking and rolling, I had to stop halfway because it was too painful on my shoulder It is not looking good. I am going to take it easy for a week then try again next week and see how I feel and decide. But at the moment, it isn't looking likely I will get round

Anyways, if I am out, so be it. I took a claculated risk on that descent last week, trying to catch no 1 lady, so I have no regrets. It is part of racing... Like racing hard at Torq 12:12 and not havikng fully recovered for the IOM race... I won Torq, I feel like you need to grab what you can on the day: carpe diem! As you don't know what lies ahead of you

Thanks Merry, I am trying... fingres crossed that taking it easy for another week will do it...

It doesn't seem too bad when out and about doing normal stuff, not worse than it was anyway, but you know what 3peaks cx is like: hard, bl**dy hard... so we emulated that yesterday for a couple of hours and I could not have done any more... I'd do a MTB race the way I feel now, but 3 peaks is just so much harder on the boody! The bruising seemed worse than the shoulder so lets hop that clears enough with another week or so...

    1:30pm into bike kit
    1:31 starts hailing
    1:33 just rain now
    1:34 hill reps
    2:05 home
    2:10 sunshine

Bad luck Hanneke, Three Peaks is one race that'll search out your weakness. Good luck!

Trying to console myself looking at stage races... Langkawi in October seems a good idea... UCI race that attracts a high quality field, but hey ho, who cares if I am last, nice warm sunny holiday
