Yes it was surprisngly dry & certainly favoured the cyclists on what bit I saw of it:sneaky:

Although, it was a bit chilly before the race, I was going to just wear a vest, but ended up putting a short-sleeve t-shirt under it (glad I did for the walk back to the car....)

Thanks, it's definately going to be a long week, as I have no spare lenses, & my glasses are an old pair with an ('out of date') prescription

Agreed, it's harder than it ought to be, given the statistica

really enjoyed it again. the course is really good. i enjoy getting up close and personal with all that lycra and spinning metal my first race back after 6 months and everything seems to be ship shape so one happy camper here.
    Glad you enjoyed it!

Were you running, or riding? (I ran again this year)

The Eye's staring to get a bit itchy now, as if there's an eyelash in it constantly

and there was me thinking that Rule 9, section P paragraph 12 subclause C clearly stated that "safety glasses/googles must be worn (not carried) if woods/low hanging branches have been identified as a potential hazard"

    Thanks, now you tell me:sneaky:

Still, just one of those things, it could have happened in previous years, or my runs to work along river-bank/through local woods

And, if I'd been a couple of seconds sooner, or later.........................

Well done to Ian Taylor knocking 10 seconds off the course record and an even bigger well done to Vic Wilkinson for knocking 16 seconds off her own course record!

    Diary entry 'done & indeed dusted' & day-pass arranged:thumbup:

Hoping to bring an away-team this year, as there's a few members (still not many though) who fell-race.

After last years 'DNF', due to the unwanted Cornea & tree-branch interface, I've got a score to settle with the race this year

Sounds good Richard, bring as many as you like

I heard somebody at the Withins race this weekend describe the HvC race as "...I think they must ride different courses..." so for all you HvC virgins out there, both runners and riders compete over the same course, makes it all that much more interesting!

Sorry, but I'm quite hacked off at the moment, as SWMBO has told me this evening of a family related happening on the same day that I'm expected to attend that will probably last less than 5 minutes for our part:angry:

And..... as is to be expected, it's not even hours later (or before the race), it's during the time I'd be out there

Almost a bloody year waiting for a return to this course, after last years DNF, & wanting to get a damned good time.

    Bugger, blast & buggeration!!!!!!
