I would have thought in this day & age a blokes height shouldn't really matter (sadly it still does), this thing about lasses needing tall blokes stinks a bit of the old, man dominates the woman thing.

It makes me laugh that it's ok for a girl to say a bloke is small & that is a negative thing, but woe betide any bloke who says a woman is too fat for his tastes!!!
chill out don't have a go. personally i don't go for guys a lot shorter than me - and he was a good few inches shorter than me. it's a preference, just like you prefer sporty girls and aren't attracted to non sporty girls.

Weird - I just found him a bit odd. And actually quite irritating. He liked to say controvertial things just to get people's backs up for example, which worked, as I knew a lot of people from his village, and they all thought he was a tad strange and steered clear of him.

Don't have a go at me for a flippant comment that wasn't meant to be taken out of context - I was joking about the lack of "tall dark handsome stranger" in my life

No that's fair enough, I wasn't having a go at you, we're all entitled to our preference, just I noticed that people have a go at me for wanting an athletic sporty girl (saying I'm shallow, etc) but if a lass says that she wants a tall guy, then that's ok. I'm not that short anyway, there are far more unfortunate people than me about when it comes to height!!!

Wierd things to get people backs up?? I could come out with some contraversial comments just to stir things up (both on the Net & in real life). It might be meant in humour (some of the things I say are to spot the difference between those who get the joke & those who don't - BTW most people on here do get the jokes!!). I don't know the guy, so not sure what you mean, but sometimes you should keep an open mind. Some of the most screwed up & nastiest people I've come across are the seemingly outwardly normal & likeable ones, while other people who on the surface might not seem so pleasant or likeable are the ones who will stand by you when the chips are down.

Also some people do it as a protectionist thing, people have been obnoxious to them, so they freak them out to make them stay away from them. Perhaps he thought you were open minded & intelligent enough to see through that & accept him for who he was???

Who knows? I think he had a few issues - I fell out with him majorly after he said some REALLY horrible things about me and my mother a few years ago and have never seen him since, so it really doesn't matter to me any more - means he won't be sending me a valentine this year anyway, so that makes way for the tall dark handsome stranger, lol!

Fair enough if he was saying REALLY horrible things, then that's slightly different.
