The bowland blog is brilliant em. I was reading it in bed on Saturday morning.
Loads of interesting and useful reports that are a great resource.
I enjoyed the write up in the fell runner about Jura. I like a writer who includes the little details.
Thanks Milli :-) got a bit of work to do on it which includes badgering people to contribute!! That was our Deckers I'll pass the message on although he's been known to pop in here from time to time :-)
I'm thinking of doing a blog next year, not really so much to self promote my obvious fantasticalness (joke in brackets) but more to act as a spur to myself to keep pushing my fellrunning 'envelope'. ( I already feel sorry for any possible followers). And of course I want to keep a record of the brilliant/ridiculous running/exploring experiences/disasters that I'm sure to have during 2013! Anyway I've looked at the google blogger but, unless I'm doing something wrong, it all seems intrinsically linked to google plus. It seems to want to force me to use my google plus profile for instance, a profile that doesn't really exist at the minute. Has anyone got any experience with the google blogger? Or are there better blog set ups?
That is what I use. I have had a Google email address for years and that is the main entry point to it. The Google + account just attaches itself to your gmail account. It is incredibly straightforward.
Pennine use WordPress (http://penninefellrunners.co.uk/wordpress/) but I do not know much about it.
I've used Google mail e-mail and Blogger for a couple of years and Google+ is not a problem at all
Poacher turned game-keeper
I started a few years ago using Blogspot, then it got taken over by Google and renamed Blogger. I've noticed that Google+ symbol but I've never dared to click on it or find out what it's all about. I've managed alright without invoking it. What does it do exactly?
Looking forward to your blog, Stolly.
emmilou, not checked yours out yet but I will.
I started a blog a while ago, at first as an experiment to see how easy it was to set up as we were changing the web site at the club. After a while it became quite cathartic and I didn't mind that I had no followers. I should say I did blame anyone as I was not the best blogger. I did manage to follow myself for a brief spell until I'd figured out unfollowing! I've now got 4 followers and beginning to feel a bit peeved at my low profile; still don't blame anyone. It was a bit of a secret diary but I obviously wanted someone to have a sneaky look.
So have a sneaky look!

I'll have a sneaky look Tubber. Stick you on my fellbound blogs page n all if thats OK. You've reminded me, I need to put a new entry on my main blog page. I've only put two on so far. The other night I got 600 of those spam things from a hand bag/perfume company. Don't know what they think us fell runners get up to.
