    Water-wise, I had 330ml with me and had two cups at Hope and Mam Nick and that seemed to be plenty enough. I had been drinking water solidly the day before to make sure I was as hydrated as possible though.

    I was the guy who had his shoe eaten by the bog, an interesting experience!

    As for the race, excellent day out and i'm well chuffed with my time 3:35.

    Big thanks to everyone involved with the race.

    No he doesn't, he's lightweight retiring to Edale as soon as he'd beeen blown over a few times now the marshalls who were out all day....

    Esp that cheerful chap on Grindslow Knoll.........I forget his name.....

    Every one had a tough time that day. esp Loxley Lad(I think it was him) et al at the top of Jacobs ladder where most of the runners who were rescued were sheltering.

    Re: Edale Skyline 2012

    At the risk of starting the Edale Skyline Fell Race Frenzy before Christmas I thought I'd let folk know that entries for the 2013 race will open towards the end of January. It will certainly be online entry and most likely through SportIdent.

    As the 'official worst kept secret in fell running' the exact date that entries will be confirmed, on't @edaleskyline on twitter and at https://www.facebook.com/EdaleSkylineFellRace at http://www.dpfr.org.uk/pages/3 and i'm sure even here too ;-)

    Please spread the word as it really is quite irritating to get countless emails asking when entries open...

    like I did last year I'll keep a good few places back for 'contenders' - as I'm a firm believer that the competitive element of the event should be a race over the fells rather than a race to download a form of the internet and post it through my door!

    Substitutions will be allowed (encouraged in fact!) for a few extra pounds which, as last year, will go straight to Edale MRT - we gave them £750 last year. All proceeds from the race will be given to local charities (last year approx £1600)

    There will be more detailed information on the above dpfr website once I've actually written it. But expect vetting for suitable experience and very robust kit requirements and (thanks to IDP) pre-race checking, followed by a cracking tough race and some of Kevs legendary stew.

    let the general over-excitement commence....

    And there was I thinking you were such a patient mild mannered sort of chap! Tried sending you a PM enquiring if entries are open yet, but it would appear your in-box is full

    What a sensible approach to race organisation. I will be linking to this post when we have yet another forum discussion about people who can't register for full events despite people not turning up on the day.

    I hope it's another good champs race. Will anyone beat Lloyd this time?
