Thank you for the recommendation, Martyn. It prompted me to re-read my own account, several months after I'd last looked at it. I read it with a sense of detachment, as if this person was someone else. It reminded me of the enormity of the achievement and the pride that comes with accomplishment. I'm jealous of the folk who have it all to come.

I have a few ramblings on my blog http://calvaorbust.blogspot.co.uk/
You might have to go back to 2009-10 for the BG stuff -I know when I first started thinking about the BG I really enjoyed reading about other folks experiences about the round.
I found Mark Smiths blog/account absolutely fantastic when I first read it.
Lots of very good blogs out there.
Good luck

I enjoyed writing this, can't vouch for the readability of it though.

Enjoy the journey. Looking back 8 months after the big day it really shocks me to think how much my life has changed over the last 3 years. That blog talks about 24 hours, but completing the BG gave me so much more than that day.

"Training is like fighting a gorilla - you don’t stop when you’re tired; you stop when the gorilla’s tired."
Most kind Feels like the salad days when i look back, although since then parenthood has arrived and it's become at least equally compelling, rewarding and painful! Very tempted to do something daft next year - Iain's winter paddy made me start to wonder about similar winter challenges...Hmmmm
Aye, Mark
Tis a cracking read. Inspirational.
