I'm bloody injured. I'm always injured or in-between injuries these days. That said, i reckon Worsley is my favourite parkrun. The crowd who turn up there every Saturday morning are deeply indebted to yourself and Duncan and the rest of the organising team who give up your time to offer your services. You're a good man
Cor blimey, Platt Fields was wet this morning with ponds galore swallowing up whole shoes and at one point half a human. Nice to be back in front of the fire drying out.
Agree about Leeds being to busy. Last time I did it someone lost a shoe, someone else fell over and there was much pushing and shoving going on. Looking forward to trying Temple Newsam and I am going to try and get down forthe first run.
Platt Fields is unbelievable. It has been bad all year but now it is just ridiculous.
Alexandra Park which is less than a mile from Platt Fields would make a much better course. It is 3 laps and is permanently marked: http://www.openathletics.org/uploads...inal_small.pdf
At the moment it is used on the first Sunday of the month for a Women Only 5K and attracts less than 10 runners!
I ran Alex Park one Sunday 2 years ago (when it was still a mixed 5k) and even mixed there were only about 40 runners, and 10 of those were Gloss as it was the 'joker' in our club champs that year. It is still my 5k PB park course ahead of Platt Fields. What sticks out in my memory is that the post-run refreshments was a supermarket trolley full of bananas, courtesy of the ladies who run 'Friends of Alex Park' or summut like that.
I'd be up for this. I take it you are volunteering as Course Director and sponsor, Swoop? Dont forget the bananas.
PS. I am sure I can persuade TimothyDaltonmyarse, as he's gagging for a sub-20 again and a 70%er now that he's back to fighting weight.
A flat dry course is just what he needs. Platt Fields just cant deliver on the 'dry' part right now.
He's whopping me right now, although I seem to recall I was a smidging ahead of him on that run at Alex Park 2 years ago.
