I'm targeting starting, & finishing will be a bonus. I haven't run a yard since 19 December. My hip's no longer giving me problems, but that may just be because I've not been running. Plans to start running again tentatively last weekend were scuppered by a cold/throat thing that won't go away. I'm just desperate to start running again, so Saturday could be it. Nothing like 22 miles round Calderdale for a warm-up! Getting out of bed on Monday morning could be tricky.

Different challenge for me this year- get round, stay in one piece ready to do another run very soon, leave enough energy in the tank to add 5 miles on at the end

Yes, a big challenge ahead, Karen. Good luck, and most of all - enjoy. I'm sure you will. Most of it, anyway!

I have been looking forward to this, but must admit it's looking doubtful whether I'll make it now. Have been laid up with 'flu (at least I think it's 'flu) since Saturday, am starting to come round but it's slow. I'm hoping for a miracle cure!

Looking forward to this, but heavy snow forecast for Friday. Hmmmm?

Not just thinking of the event but the travelling up early on Saturday... I'll leaving home at 6-ish.

Would anyone local to mytholmroyd be able to give us reports on here?

Good idea LR...I have a 130 mile journey starting at 5 am for this one...if the roads are bad I'll not risk it.

I'm also looking for a number to buy for a friend if someone can't make it and has not yet emailed the organiser, please message me ;-)

The weather front is forecast to move in on Friday night and drag its heels through Saturday as well, with snow all the way (no rain). Could be interesting. If it's looking too risky I won't venture over the watershed in my motor vehicle. I suppose there is the possibility of taking the train on Friday instead and getting overnight accommodation, but that relies on the organisers and marshals being able to travel and make it happen on the day. Oo-er.

The main roads should be fine though.

    Will try to do that.

Looking hopeful that I'll be able to get a run - currently about 12th on the waiting list, so a few more dropouts or no-shows on the day and I'll be in. Excellent.
Have to have a look at the route map in that case...
