Ive been in touch with the organisers and there is not much chance of your friend getting a place that way, so they will need to get someone to substitute with (as will i hopefully).Originally Posted by Mountain Goatess

Yeah they told him he could substitute but so far no luck. Good luck to you too! ;-)
Just received an email from the organisers stating there intentions to run the event as long as they can get the marshals to the CPs and Mytholmroyd is accessible!

Snow on the hills, but not too bad, and the roads are clear.
I'm in- the majority of those on the entry list appear to have a place now, thanks to those who've dropped out telling the organisers.

Starting to get packed for tomorrow, but I've no idea whether I'll get to the start. We've had 3 inches of snow here, but it's stopped now. If it stays that way I should be able to get to my mum's in Burnley this evening. Then I just hope I can get through to Mytholmroyd in the morning. The forecast on the met office website predicts heavy snow all morning tomorrow for the Calder Valley at the moment.
I've packed everything...just in case!
Santa brought me some Kahtoola microspikes for Christmas. Might get the chance to use them...!

LAST MINUTE ENTRANTS – not on waiting list
We are now in a position to be able to guarantee you a starting number on the day, so please turn up and report to Registration, where you will be told what you need to do next. Some of you will have a number due to last minute withdrawals, the rest will have to wait until the no-shows become apparent, at 8am. A time allowance will be given for any starting late.

Bulletins will also be posted on the website of current conditions, bearing in mind the weather forecast. The event will go ahead, excepting dire circumstances.

Does anyone know the condition of Blackstone edge road?...thinking it might be better to stick to the main road through Hebden Bridge to get there?
