    Hi Mate

I know were you are coming from, but if I am running with nil vis’ and on snow I am not really getting to know the route???

It takes me about 1:30 hours to get down to the BG ground depending, so if I stop local I can run for a extra 2 to 3 hours in character building weather on “my own hills” and save some fuel money, but no good pasties in Keswick mind.

If there is space and no objection I might tag along with you chaps on Saturday.

morning all, looks like saturday could be a another forumite recce then. havnt had chance to look iver map and work start time out, but dunmail is 3 to 3 1/2 hr drive for us hence start from there for a day trip and langdale would prob be another 30mins im guessing so a start time would be around 10ish for us if we leave at 6ish or 9/930 from dunmail. some intresting sugguestions for a day out have come up though and will have a pour over map tonight and a chat with bill and see whats doable for us but hopefully hook up with a few of you you guys too theres even a chance mr stu little may be out too ;-) any other sugguestions welcome as our total knowlege of leg 3 is steel fell is steep and its claggy on top when we go up there

Why don't we start from Dunmail as originally planned (at say 10 or 9:30). I will get to Old Dungeon Gill half an hour earlier with my car (which could fit 4 passengers or 5 at a squidge) for the return journey. If need be one other driver could park there too with a third driver picking us up to whiz over to Dunmail. I personally love the climb up Steel Fell and it'd be a shame to miss it. Also that stretch to Calf Crag and Seargeant Man is really good for all sorts of reasons whereas all the boulders and crap after Bowfell I can quite happily miss out

Also Dunmail to Bowfell on a 23 hour schedule is something like 3 hours 20 or so and we'll still have to descend the band so we'll be out a good 4 to 4.5 hours if we're tootling along quite nicely. We could always add in Esk Pike if we feel like it and then descend to Langdale via Angle tarn?

Any of that sounds good to Stolly were just happy to be out and 23/24 hr pace sounds good to us so we can get a few bearings as were going along just looked on route planner and it gives abit quicker travel time than we thought so could maybe do anywherestart will have proper look tonight as im on a scaffold at mo :-) but we're Defo up for it and the more the merrier Tahr if it fits with your plans. And do you mean the hill or the weather martyn. :-) but yes I'm sure you're right mate or hope so anyhow made peace with Fairfields over last couple of weeks and had a couple of goes on steel fell coming off seat sandal so getting there  stu passed his regards on last night too was telling how you've been s help with the Garmin.
