Really good run Ian last night. A good route. My legs were feeling a little stiff after wards.
Was a good pace and nice to see some familiar faces!
Didnt feel like much climbing but I guess it was spread out eh?!
    Good

26m today, 2000ft. Slow pace, just easing myself back into longer runs again.

Don't feel at all fit at the moment, but with a bit of planning I should be good for the spring.

11miles up the Chew Valley to Laddow Rocks/Castles and back. Nice 1950 feet of ups and downs. Icy over Chew/Ladddow.

9 miles and 1600ft in the Upper Derwent Valley this morning. Twas a tad windy and the rain was like little needles of spite. Turned back at Howden Edge (having come via Nether Hey) as I didn't feel confident in continuing into the clag. Another time....

    15.7 miles...

Including 13.2 mile half marathon trail race in central Pennsylvania, cold snowy icey conditions.. got lost early had to rejoin the race way down, then a few falls.. much blood.. but managed to get the win by a few minutes. Nice effort session. Averaged around 7:05 min mile and it was narrow undulating rough trails so felt I was working quite hard, lots of icey sections that needed walking.. well should have been walked.. have cut up knees, shins, thighs and lumps on my head from hitting the ice a few times..

Many funny comments about my lack of clothing.. short shorts aren't so common in the US.. much compression gear on show as per usual in the trail world.. 'do you have a special muscle balm to keep your legs warm'.. ranked as the funniest..

Then a few miles cool down.. beers soon.. Superbowl time.

    Thanks..

But US running.. especially the trail running isn't that high a standard.. I've now bagged wins in Texas, Maine, Kansas and Pennsylvania.. maybe its too spread out but apart from a few areas, Boston etc, and a few key races its a pretty low standard. Its actually more difficult searching for the tough fields to race in...

Short warm up, short run then hill reps for me, followed by coool down dog walk. Then 30 kettlebell squats and 40 kettlebell swings, a cooldown stretch and some foam rolling.

Now ligged out with the pooch, early night to get some rest. Work and training all.week cant wait
