Can't really fault the Mark 2. They've handled everything a wet,muddy Kinder could throw at them.
Bought a pair last week and just ordered another pair. Getting em in while they're cheap, that £ 30 price might start to rise.

My mark 1s are going very well in terms of wear and tear they still look new and am using them on every fell run - the fact they are too big on the heel helps (?) given every run is in 2 pairs of socks (1 a pair of seal skinz) but contouring in them is a real issue as my feet slide all over in them. It would be nice to know how much more of a slim fit the MK2 are specifically the womens 'specific' Ta
Em, if you're at Carwags tomorrow evening, have a word with Pam. She's had a pair of Mk2's for 3 or 4 weeks. Don't know if she'll be wearing them at Carwags, more likely her trail shoes. She would definitely have been wearing them at FF last Tuesday.

....if I didn't have a 2 new pairs of Roclite 295s sitting in a cupboard...I would be all over these. Although, if I sold the Roclites, bought 2 pairs of Cheviots, I would still be in profit.

I have been fortunate to get hold of both the mk 1's and 2 to test before they hit the streets and i have to say for a 30 quid fell shoe they are superb. There were a couple of minor details in the mk 1 that i didnt like mainly the extra mesh upper which split. This has been addressed in the mk 2's. The mk 2's are superb. Iv found them very comfy and are fairly good at draining on a bog run. The tread is brilliant and fills me with bags of confidence. The only negative with the tread is they are very slippy on flagged paths. However the positives you gain on the soft stuf far out weigh the negatives. For 30 pound i think these trainers are well worth a punt. Ive ditched running in my solomans which were 80 pound in favour of the more mile. If your going to buy a pair id definately go for the mk 2s and i just hope they bring out a mk 3. Well done more mile for producing a great shoe at a sensible price.
There was a tempting display of cheviot 2's on sale at the start of the Trog yesterday, so for £30 I succumbed... Just been for a first shortish run in a wet and snowy corner of the calder valley and thought I'd share a few thoughts compared to my Adidas Kanadias.
Fit wise I went for half a size smaller my Kanadias. The Cheviots seem a bit narrower in the toe box. Running in them today, I did like the fit, they seemed 'snugger' overall so they gripped more of my foot more effectively, I can imagine there'll be less potential for my foot to move around inside the shoe.
Grip wise I definitely felt more confident on slithery mud and grass, especially on descents. We did some bits of wet stone flagged path, grip was OK, not significantly different to Kanadias and certainly not lethally lacking. On hard surfaces I felt like more shock was transmitted to my foot, so Kanadias might remain a better option for routes with more tarmac or surfaced trails / paths. The Cheviots definitely much better for the soft and muddy stuff.
Early days yet, but I'm impressed so far. Will be interesting to see how durable they are.
