Sandstone Trail

Just reading an old thread about the Sandstone Trail record. I'm certainly not in the running for a record, but might have a stab at the route next year. Was curious if there's any advantage to running the trail from Whitchurch to Frodsham, rather than the other way around?

Most of the people I know have done it that way purely because it's 'running home'. And the events were historically run that way. Try it. Might be a bit of an anti-climax finish with the dull-ish canal stretch doing it N to S?

I get the "running home" thing: as I don't live in the area any more it doesn't really apply....As for saving the best to last: I think after 30 miles I might like a steady plod along the canal into Whitchurch....
