Mixing the grape & the grain ?

Not sure if we have a 'today's whisky thread' so I'll sneak this in here - 12 year old Caul Ila from Islay, quite possibly the most sublime malt I have had the pleasure of tasting. Only had a wee drop as I didn't want it to interfere with a Calafornian Zinfandel I had on the go but I am certainly looking forward to my next tasting - unlike the other big names from Islay this is much more subtle & complex with peat more of a background taste than to the fore, well worth a try if you are in the mood for a nice malt.

A pint of Kirkby Lonsdale Monumental Blonde after work tonight, which was fantastic ! Followed by an Ossett Silver King which was very good.

Not a massive fan of silver king, but Osset Hercules on the other hand is cracking.

New micro brewery due to open behind old Mallard pub in Ilkley, New Wharfedale Brewery, pubs called Mucky Duck or something will wait for up date from our man on the ground Mr Tup.
