I'm afraid I got trogged by the Trog after retiring at CP12, still longest fell run to date. I thoroughly enjoyed it up to that point and will be back to tackle it gain next year.

Great event for my first fell race. I must admit that it was harder than anticipated. I was hoping to match the 5.7mph average that I had been doing over a similar distance, similar ascent but the bogs and snow dragged that down to a moving average of 5.2mph!

Anyone planning a recce of the Trog (or Midgley Moor race, or pretty much any fell race in the area covered) may find this book handy http://www.westyorkshiremoors.co.uk/ It's a lovely book, and it shows up those little trods that the OS map misses (and that in some races may prove quite handy!).
I won't accept these maps as your race map mind ;-)
I'm not on commission here and have nothing to gain by recommending it!
