I will be able to see the rest of your run & see if you did a short run to deliberately make an attempt to climb up the table.

If you are using Strava, particularly forthe cycle option, it is worth noting that you can use a privacy setting that doesn't show where you start/finished your ride. You don't want someone coming around to your garage & nicking your bike, do you?
I think you can set Strava up with a privacy area that only yourself can view around your chosen start point.
For interest,i ran a route last week and segments were added that no one had used and were on private land ,my time recorded as 1st out of 1 ! Don't know what thats all about, cheers.

If you do a significant climb, it will automatically create a segment for said climb. I think you can turn this off if it annoys you

To be fair Iain, that wasn't taken by someone from the FRA club.

I've not checked.. tbh I've only just started looking at segments running wise..

In the states it seems more populated by runners, so you get more competition on the segments.

Things like the Llanberis hill reps session would be good.. I've uploaded one and created segments.. there's 9 segments uploaded.. surprisingly even with all the runners in llanberis only 4 people have done the last hill rep, and people have been doing that session weekly for years..

Just seen even the Snowdon race first climb.. has only had 50 people.. and that's in the snowdon race.. I've never worn my GPS watch in that race though.

I think it's more of a cyclist thing in the UK at the moment, but seems to be getting more runners. Main reason, other than segments, I use it is that the android app is less battery hungry than the others I've tried.

I've loaded all my recent runs and, unless I'm misunderstanding things, all of the segments I've created have only been run by me

Yeah, It has loaded a lot of random segments for my uploads too. Haven't quite sussed out finding all the other local segments already there that I've happened to have done. It seems to depend on how I zoom into the map. Having fun learning though.
