And now imminently moving to flat North Germany..

Interestingly re height gain.. uploaded yesterdays 20 miler to garmin training.. total elevation was 3000ft.. uploaded to strava and elevation was 100ft.. I thought it maybe more, up to 300ft maybe.. but never 3000ft.

The other thing is every time I run across the ben franklin bridge I get a huge spike.. 40m up 30% inclince.. across 100 yards, 40m down.. 30% decline.. which may not seem huge but in philly it is.. the bridge is probably that high but its well over 1 mile long.. but it only registers that height for a very short section in the centre..

How about some forum challenges? Most climbed? Sillyest segment? Craziest line?!
Just an idea for some fun along the lines of forum champs
I've got one for the silliest. One of mine starts in the middle of Windermere from the rowing section on the Gummers Howe race. You'll need to hire a boat to try and go and beat it!

There is a crop feature if you go to an individual run / ride.

A good idea. Some of the automatic segnents are a bit random. Tricky to figure out exactly where some of them start on the ground too. You want to be running hard before you get to the start point!

Does that mean I can't wear my polkadot jersey when I'm running them then? :-)

Mm, saw that when I drove off after a finishing a ride with it still running and getting lots of KOMs
What I really want is to drag the track and delete the stupid data point in the middle of a run. Guess I'll just delete that run.

Yep, it's far from perfect. Same run Monday: Garmin 1020' climbing, Strava 512'.
There's also a bizarre downhill section on a stretch I do reps on. Always get a big dip every rep, whereas its a steady climb in real life. It does a bit of checking against the map data, the map seems to take precedence. I can live with it though, nobody died

You could export it to gpx file and edit the actual dodgy point. It is just an xml file and will open up in something like notepad
Find the time and put the point to something closer to the ones either side of it.

Just edit the Latitude (lat) and Longitude (lon) value.

    <trkpt lat="53.598613000" lon="-1.928577000"><ele>191.5</ele><time>2012-01-15T09:08:55Z</time></trkpt>
    <trkpt lat="53.598511000" lon="-1.928544000"><ele>191.9</ele><time>2012-01-15T09:09:00Z</time></trkpt>

oops! I did the same! Luckily it was at the end of a ride so I could just crop it.

But I did knock a certain Phil Winskill off the top on the 'Almond Garth Climb'!! KOM!!!!!!!
Ha ha. Good lad! Although, I have no idea about the Almond garth Climb - where? I get emails now and again telling me somebody has taken my KOM - didn't even know I had one!!

I setup the segment to the top of Skidda. There were so many little crappy segments up Skidda', but none from the bottom to the top PURE CLIMB. I'm off the leader board for it, but I had to run it so as to create it. Made me chuckle that you were 10secs off the KOM. Next time...I might get that KOM shortly to give you something to chase....

NOTE: Found it now. Must have got the KOM when I was making the segment up Skidda'. Don't go up Skidda' very often. Very boring hill.
