    Re: Tonight's Real Ale

I'm turning to the dark side tonight with a £1.38 bottle of Tesco's own dark ale (4.5%). It's quite nice.

Is this going to help drive down the cost of beer, or put small breweries out of business?

My ex-landlady's partner runs a brewery (Storm Brewery in Macclesfield, home of the best-named beer I've ever heard of - Silk of Amnesia). So I could get a crate from him instead.

    Are Tesco beers evil?

Are you sure there's any beer in the bottles? I've just bought 2 Blu-Ray movies in Tesco and all I have is empty cases...

Tonight i sampled yer jarrow brewerys' "rivet catcher" a fine ale, not too potent at 4.2% light yet flavoursome, carbo loading for tomorrows 14 miles

I was in there the other day mate & I agree. The offers are a bit thin on the ground. Picked up my usual (& stunning Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome Stout !) & some Pride Of Oxford Golden Ale, which was only 99p (& an award winner). But, as you say, there were probably only about 4 or 5 offers on ale. Let's complain to the management !

Just enjoying my free bottle of Backgarden Brewing EKG Porter courtesy of Superflyguy ! Wow, incredible drop for a homebrew ! As good as anything you can get in the supermarkets. You should be selling this !

I was ok for the first half an hour & then the extremeties started to numb somewhat !

Oatmeal stout sounds rather good ! That's what'll be in my porridge tomorrow !

Finished off the evening with an M & S Irish Stout. Award winning & very pleasant.

I was a little early for my sons XC race in Cullingworth today. So what to do but hit the pub. Had a rather nice Cullingworth Brewery Spot 'O Bother Porter.
