Thanks for the brill pics Iain, you've really captured the gorgeousness of that dawn over Bleaklow. What a great night out: easy navigation and a frozen bog monster meant even our middlin' team got our long-awaited sub-12 finish. Well done to the record breakers! Thanks to the organisers: fab as always

Th Rollerbladers squad was a bit depeleted this year so we deferred our entry to next year We're a bit gutted because we have always wanted to go under 9 hours and that would have been the night to do it. I joined up with a team looking for a last minute replecement and had very pleasant trot round with them. Well done everyone and thank you to Richard and all the organisers for another grand night out!

The third and forth teams could have won it with those times in previous years. Condotions were obviously very good for fast times. These records may stand for quite a while..
What happened to the Rollerbladers Grouse? and to Avon Mountain team?

Just think how fast you'd have gone if you hadn't taken pics Ian Good blog mate

Vets record: not a straightforward definition! In 2008, in the absence of a fast 'old' vets team, the winning elite team of 'young' vets were also the vets handicap winners. In 2009 the vets team with an aggregate age of 247 years won the vets with a record handicap time of 6:48. That, in my opinion is a more representative record.

    Re: High Peak Marathon

This was my first High Peak Marathon and, despite what I said at Bleak Low, I hope it won't be my last. What a brilliant event! Big thanks go to my fellow team members Gavin and Phil and, El Capitan Stolly and also all the organisers and marshals. It was bitterly cold and yet each person at every checkpoint was cheery and encouraging including Harriet the border terrier at Snake Road I had some low moments including falling face first in freezing cold water, which was funny for the ten seconds before I felt frozen to the core, but the highs far outweighed them. What a stunning night. Moonlight reflected on the ice and a starry sky when crossing Bleak Low, a fabulous sunrise and mountain hares. I don't think my exhausted team mates fully appreciated the skylarks singing as we finished the final descent but I felt like singing myself. Well done to everyone that took part.

What camera did u use, the pictures are excellent.
Panasonic Lumix LX3. The current equivalent is the LX7. Highly recommend both, my wife has an LX7.
