    6 sleeps!

I am so excited about my first Hobble!

I managed a cheeky little reccie of the section from Tod to Heb Bridge with my (septuagenarian) mother on Saturday. How is that for commitment?

    Good point, Manhar!

She enjoyed a rest at the trough at Mankinholes and a picnic at Stoodley Pike and post-walk nose bag in Hebden Bridge!

I had a ruck sack packed full of spare clothes and first aid kit!

We discussed Sylvia Plath and how much we pay for baked beans!

Hard to decide. It has everything, including tarmac. A pair of half-worn fell shoes or trail shoes should be ok.

I'd go with trail shoes, even if it's wet. There's many miles of hard track surfaces, & fell shoes would be hard on the feet. I'll be in Roclite 315s.

Me too. I find the Roclites are slightly kinder to the feet on the Hobble.

after smugly posting that I entered ages ago, I realised that I hadn't entered at all!
cue panicked entry last week and it appears from the latest list that I am in PHEW!

not sure how quick I'll go - 2 years ago pottered round with a friend in 8:24, but lot fitter now so maybe sub-7:30? doubt I'll threaten 7 hours...

    and yes, Roclite 315's
