Really looking forward to this as it gets closer. Just one question, obviously it's different for everyone but general opinions welcome- mud claws or wave harriers?
The route has large sections of moor (boggy at times but currently drier than of late) inter-spersed with jeep tracks and trods - studs will help as there's some steep slippy stuff on the descents - I would agree on Mudclaws (or anything else with a aggressive grip) - X-talons would be fine too. You might also need flippers and arm bands for the new river crossing
If you're heading over from Lancashire just head over the scenic routes;
Long Causeway from Cliviger/Burnley, or Widdop Road from Colne/Trawden and drop into the village from the North.
If you're coming in from Manchester, Rochdale, Oldham and the South, approach via Todmorden, join A646 for Hebden Bridge, at the SHELL GARAGE, 1m after the town centre, turn left, up CROSS STONE ROAD; this steep, narrow lane eventually becomes Great House Road, and Crossley New Road; turn right when you get to GREAT ROCK at Eastwood Land, to arrive in Staups Lane at Blackshawhead. From Blackshwead take the COLDEN road, past the NEW DELIGHT PUB, until you arrive at Heptonstall (through Slack)

I'd say mudclaws too.
